Prevention is better than cure Nov 07

Every day we hear or read reports in the media about the poor state of our nations health. In the UK heart disease affects 2.6 million people; over two million have diabetes; one in five adults are obese and one in three are likely to have cancer during their lifetime.

Preventing flu in the workplace

Minor illnesses such as flu are one of the main reasons for short-term sickness among employees in the UK. Around 172 million working days were lost in sick days last year - at a cost of £13.2 billion to the economy - so implementing a flu vaccination programme this winter makes sound commercial sense.

For most sufferers, flu symptoms will last about a week but a feeling of tiredness can persist for some time, reducing individual productivity and increasing workloads and stress for other employees. As the flu vaccination prevents flu in 70 to 90 percent of healthy adults we're sure you'll agree that it pays for itself. As well as showing you care about your employees it will allow you to reduce sickness absence.

A vaccination programme is quick and easy to set up. A trained nurse will travel to your office with all the equipment needed including the vaccines (all included in the price) and deliver the vaccinations. All you need to do is provide a dedicated room where the vaccinations can take place.
